Turning Ambition Into Action

Supporting students to explore their future is a core part of personal development  but many feel they’re not getting the guidance they need early enough.

  • Only 23% of KS3 students say they’ve had a useful conversation with an adult about their future or next steps compared to 69% at KS4/KS5 showing a clear gap in early guidance.

This delay means many young people aren’t making confident, informed choices  even as they approach key transition points.

This theme helps schools start those conversations earlier, offering age-appropriate careers support from Key Stage 3 onwards.

What’s included in this theme

Free KS3–KS5 resources designed to support future planning and skills for life, including:

  • Goal setting & self-reflection activities to identify strengths and ambitions
  • Career exploration tasks that introduce pathways and broaden horizons
  • Practical planning templates for setting intentions and tracking progress

Perfect for PSHE, form time, enrichment days, or transition sessions.

Do you know their plans?

Every school is different and so are its students. Find out when and where your students need more guidance - so you can help them make confident, informed choices. The Aspirations programme gives schools access to personalised data showing how confident students feel about their next steps, and what support they need most.
